Dominika + Marcus

I never really express on this blog how grateful I am to do this job.  Every single wedding I photograph, I give the same enthusiasm, creativity, professionalism and hard work.  Because each one of these weddings all come down to one thing… Love.  It is my duty to capture that love and I am so privileged and honored to do so.  Sometimes capturing that love takes place in your parents’ back yard.  Sometimes it takes place at the Four Seasons.  The where is not the special part.

Last week, I got a call about a young couple who have been through so much together.  The bride has been battling cancer and was in a hospice unit with not much time left in this world.  Her final wish was to marry her boyfriend. And on April 10th, 2013, she did that in the lobby of the hospice unit.  It was sweet, tearful, inspiring and full of so much love.

While the dress, the shoes, the flowers and the venue are all favorites of mine on wedding days, I am reminded that the commitment two people make to each other is what lasts for eternity.

On April 11, 2013, Dominika Janeé Freeman passed away. Her husband, Marcus, was by her side.  She was 17 years old.
